Oncology

The Miryam Bourkis Oncology Institute provides comprehensive services for patients with solid malignant tumors. It includes an outpatient ambulatory unit for intravenous treatment and oncology clinics, for oral treatments and ongoing monitoring of patient progress.  In addition, the institute has a clinic for supportive care including social, psychological and spiritual services.

At the Oncology Institute, treatments include the full range of pharmaceutical solutions for cancer including chemotherapy and biological, immunological and hormonal therapies.  An interdisciplinary team of doctors from various specialties, nurses and mental health practitioners determines treatment protocol.

Institute physicians also participate in cancer research and international trials of new drugs, in addition to basic academic research in collaboration with other academic institutions. The institute also trains medical students from the Azrieli Faculty of Medicine Bar Ilan University.

The Oncology Institute's team includes oncologists, internists and geriatric physicians, nurses with oncological training, nurses with specialized knowledge in various areas of cancer treatment, support staff, social workers, psychologists, spiritual advisors and administrative staff.

The institute's oncological hospitalization department provides all-inclusive treatment for cancer patients and treats a wide range of cancer related conditions:
